The West Bengal government on Saturday announced the Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) board examination 2021 dates in the state. The board exams for both classes will be conducted in June next year.
According to a notification issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, the Madhyamik (class 10) board examination will start on June 1 and will conclude on June 10, 2021.
Similarly, Class 12 board examinations will be conducted from June 15, 2021. According to the schedule released by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, the tests will conclude on June 30.
West Bengal board exams 2021 postponed
Originally scheduled to be held in February 2021, the West Bengal government had decided to postpone the board examinations for both the classes due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the state.
“Under the prevailing situation, it will be difficult to conduct examinations as schools are shut. The Board has informed us that they want to hold the test in June. We have received the proposal and have agreed to it,” state education minister Partha Chatterjee had informed.
Further, the state government of West Bengal has announced that the schools and colleges in the state will not reopen till the pandemic situation is under control. All educational institutes have been instructed to conduct online classes for the time being.
